ANKOS (the Anatolian University Libraries Consortium) was first established in the year 2000. At the time, 12 member libraries and three database subscription services joined force. As a result of this union, faculty members at universities across Turkey as well as staff of research institutions now have access to bibliographic and full-text databases in the fields of science, mathematics, social sciences, humanities, medicine, agriculture, business, education, informatics and computing, and engineering.
ANKOS takes its place alongside the world’s library consortia as a member of the International Coalition of Library Consortia (ICOLC), the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), the Southern European Libraries Link (SELL), and the international initiative COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources). The consortium holds an Annual Meeting, ANKOSLink, where all members of ANKOS and firms are encouraged to attend.
ANKOS Comprises the Following:
- Academic Institutions (Universities and Technological Institutions)
