Genetics Society of America

The Genetics Society of America (GSA) is a scholarly society that seeks to deepen our understanding of the living world by advancing our understanding of genetics. More than just a publisher, the GSA is mission-driven and places a high priority on responding to community needs. GENETICS and G3 have long been committed to supporting resources that serve scientists.

Since 1916, GENETICS has published high-quality, original research presenting novel findings bearing on genetics and genomics. The journal publishes empirical studies of organisms ranging from microbes to humans, as well as theoretical work.

G3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics provides a forum for the publication of high‐quality foundational research, particularly research that generates useful genetic and genomic information such as genome maps, single gene studies, genome‐wide association and QTL studies, as well as genome reports,  mutant screens, and advances in methods and technology. The Editorial Board of G3 believes that rapid dissemination of these data is the necessary foundation for analysis that leads to mechanistic insights.
