PNAS Online receives 25 million hits per month. The site contains the full text, figures, tables, equations, and references of all articles in PNAS dating back to 1915, as well as a wealth of online features such as Supplemental Information, Letters to the Editor, and PNAS Plus research articles.

PNAS articles publish daily online in PNAS Early Edition as soon as they are accepted and final author changes are made. The date of online release is the official date of publication. Papers publish online 1–4 weeks before they appear in an issue.

PNAS offers a series of special feature issues that highlight emerging fields in the physical, social, and biological sciences and are edited by leaders in the field. Special features include a cluster of perspectives and peer-reviewed research articles.

 

Consortia Policy

PNAS is available to negotiate agreements with national and local consortia, offering customized pricing that takes into consideration multiple factors, such as the number of sites involved, with the objective to increase the availability of high-quality content amongst the scientific community.

These are some of the standard parameters used:

  • Multi-year contracts up to three years
  • Fixed price cap for the duration of the contract, lower than the standard yearly increase from the publisher’s catalogue
  • Access to content available after termination of contract
  • “Opt-out” clause in case of superior or irresistible force (force majeure)
